A friend, Dee Moran, suggested the idea of Rick doing digital stamps to
donate to OPERATION WRITE HOME which he did-they were so popular that he
decided to post some of his more iconic designs on ETSY just on a
lark-which he did in 2009.
Gaining exposure and by doing sponsorships for challenge blogs and other online events he expanded from about 50 designs in 2009 to over 400 in 2012.
2013 will see the addition of archive discs featuring designs which have been retired and the addition of work by friends who are also designers and artists.
The idea of digital stamps which at first seemed sort of silly and frivolous has become a product which Rick really believes in-the images are widely diverse, relatively inexpensive, easy to store and certainly more conducive to manipulation than hard stamps, HOWEVER-digis won't replace rubber-there are things a talented stamper can do with rubber stamps that can't be done with a digital image.
